(Schaumburg, Illinois –)  Rabine Group is pleased to announce that a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration were held yesterday to mark the completion of the firm’s new 18,000 square foot LEED certified national corporate headquarters along with paving and roofing design centers located at 900 National Parkway in Schaumburg, Illinois. The event was held from 11am-4pm with the ribbon cutting ceremony at 1pm. Guests were treated to tours of the facility, pavement center and rooftop and were invited to attend a LEED certification seminar.

Rabine Group, who has been named to Crain’s Fast Fifty list for the last three years, recently received the Al Larson Environmental Award for their extraordinary achievement in energy efficiency. The firm’s LEED certified headquarters facility exhibits the latest technology reflective of Rabine’s offerings to their customers. As part of the firm’s growing Rabine Academy, both a Pavement Design Center and Roofing Design Center were recently completed. The academy is instructed by Rabine’s on-staff industry experts.

The annual results of the Industry Sales Survey published by the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute shows a 2.7% increase in the total US paver sales and a 7% increase from 2010 to 2011 in Canadian paver sales. The municipal/commercial market symbolizes 21.3% and residential sales is 78.7% of the total sales.

Chicago Honored With Environmental Leadership Award

The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) has recognized the autumn 2011 repaving of North Michigan Avenue, Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, as an outstanding example of breaking new ground in developing environmentally responsible pavements. Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) Commissioner Gabe Klein will accept the NAPA Environmental Leadership Award on behalf of Mayor Rahm Emanuel on July 17 during the NAPA Midyear Meeting.

PennDOT to Repair Concrete Pavement on Area Highways

There will be lane closures on Gay Street next week.

The following is a press release from PennDOT.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said announced that construction is scheduled next week to repair worn concrete pavement on four highways in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties.

PennDOT is investing $6 million to repair deteriorating concrete on 18 state highways in the Philadelphia region. Crews are repairing and improving 63 miles of roadway by sealing concrete pavement joints and cracks, and patching.

After his return home from the hospital in April, various organizations and companies have donated time and resources to help the family adjust to Nick’s new lifestyle.
